This is due to the criterion of natural stratification of society, which divides the urban residences based on their economic status and social class. This is a societal reality that as an assertive investor, you should not neglect when evaluating a property that might interest you.

Nowadays, women are so well-heeled and thriving in the real estate industry, that it may be difficult to believe that, years ago, real estate was known to be exclusively a male-dominated field. 

Indeed, it was not until the last century, beginning with the reclamation of equal opportunities and rights, that women began to be drawn to real estate, particularly for the scheduling flexibility and, of course, the financial benefits. Ever since, their success and impact have been such that future generations of women are inspired to get more and more involved in the business of real estate.

Women in the business as agents

When women would join in as real estate agents, they would be the big winners on the pitch! 

It is a known fact that prospective clients prefer to deal with a female agent or broker than a male one. According to a French survey conducted by Ipsos in 2014, women’s assets, in these cases, merge with some of their natural strengths such as the ability to listen, advise, analyze, support, and above all, persevere. 

The survey goes on to show that women tend to negotiate the value of real estate in the fairest way for the client (53% versus 47% for men). Women also have a better understanding of the market and the legislation (52% versus 48% for men). So it’s no surprise that, after years of practicing and refining these essential qualities recognized by the industry, women have officially become the new champions of the real estate agent profession.

Women in real estate as investors

Additionally, women are not operating in real estate only as agents or brokers. Lately, many women are now subscribing to the advantages of investing their money in property.

Originally, women were not investing in property because of a lack of knowledge and social prejudice, as it was for many years considered a man’s field. Several people felt neither the desire nor the interest at all. Instead, they usually were fulfilled investing in their family and their community. As of today, study shows that more women are buying condos and single-family homes at an even higher rate than men. According to the US National Association of Realtors, single women are currently purchasing more properties than single males.

They consider financial literacy to be an important foundation and would seek financial knowledge through classes or financial advisors as their first step before investing in a property. The goals are to increase wealth, independence and confidence, and to build a solid real estate investing portfolio. But, how does it all happen?

A significant factor in the expansion of women in real estate is the collaboration of women from all over the world to team up and help each other win in the market. They started to join forces by supporting and encouraging one another to join and remain in real estate. The call is spreading through online growing communities, forums, and activities in which our ladies share their experiences and advice, encourage financial education, and provide each other with helpful real estate market tips.
